Stewardship
Bill Stephens believed the Biblical truth, “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” and he and his wife Neika built their lives on that philanthropic spirit.
Neika remains dedicated to their shared vision of preserving the valley’s beauty and enriching lives of generations to come. Only the acres that have been cleared and farmed for decades will be reshaped into our small town. The forested areas of the valley hillsides will remain preserved, both for the animals and plants that already call them home and for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy.
Preserving 90 percent of the existing tree canopy and maintaining 60 percent of the property in its natural state, Stephens Valley is designed with sensitivity to and respect for the land. With a vow to preserve nature, the small town will be slowly and thoughtfully built over the next 20 years. Based on the best ideas for maintaining harmony with the land, the community’s easy-to-stroll sidewalks, pocket parks, maintained trails and community gardens will offer a personal and private connection to nature.
